On this page you can find helpful tips from former travelers. I will also post some recommendations from my own personal travels. *If you are interested in working, studying or moving abroad scroll on down to the bottom of this page.*

Guten Tag! Austria is one of my favorite countries and currently my home sweet home. I have only been to Wels and Vienna but friends have given me wonderful recommendations for Innsbruck and Salzburg. Here is the list.

Innsbruck– Innsbruck is a beautiful town located in between the mountains of west Austria. It’s location makes it an ideal holiday spot for winter recreation. The summertime mountain weather makes it ideal for hikers and mountain bikers alike. Innsbruck is easily connected to bigger cities like Munich or Vienna. Ticket prices can be viewed here.

Salzburg– Most people will first recognize this city from the popular musical “The Sound of Music”. It is also famously known for being the birth place of the great composer Mozart.

Vienna–  For the 10th year in a row, Vienna has earned the title as “The World’s Most Livable City” and rightfully so.

Wels- Wels is located in the Upper Austria region. I first traveled to Wels when I was playing soccer for a women’s youth league in 2006. It is a quaint city but full of greenery and Austrian architect.

Bonjour! I have been to two regions in France, Paris and the French Alps.

Paris- I traveled to Paris this past December with one of my good friends. We were traveling on a ‘teacher budget” but still managed to see all Paris had to offer. Sidenote: If your traveling in Europe during Christmas time, go to Paris.

French Alps-

Hola! I love Spain. Really, I do. I lived there for three years when I first moved to Europe. One year in the Balearic Islands, two in Sevilla and lots of road trips in between. Here is the ever growing list of things to do in Spain.

Madrid- Madrid is an international hub which connects many international flights coming in from the USA. It is a great introduction to Spain and Europe alike. The airport is well connected to the city center. You can take the metro or hail a cab for a 50 euro flat fee anywhere into the city. Every trip I have made to Madrid has been short but sweet.

Barcelona– Barcelona is probably one of my favorite big city in Spain.

Sevilla- The city of color and music. This city will make you feel like you have fallen into a past life. For two years I got to call this dream city my home. If you are traveling through I would recommend coming during the spring or early summer. There are two major festivals in the spring, Semana Santa and Feria. Semana Santa is also known as holy week. It is a week long celebration with processions that go all day.

Ronda Sites and Recommendations

Valencia-  A beautiful port city notorious for beach views and paella. But did you know this city is also known for swing dancing? Last May I traveled to Valencia and was pleasantly surprised when a friend took me to an amateur swing dance party by the beach. The location was called “La Factoria” and is right on the board walk. Here you can find great restaurants to order Paella. Remember this dish is big and served family size so come hungry. Lunch time is commonly served around 3pm so come earlier to get a table.

The Balearic Islands- Ibiza, Mallorca, Minorca. You have to see them all.
